In He, She and Fitness, Dansk Rakkerpak takes a humorous yet sharp look at contemporary fitness culture - both its promises and its pitfalls. Following current trends, a fitness center offers a fitness and aerobics class for seniors, led by an energetic and good-looking instructor. In the end, only three participants remain; the rest have dropped out due to aching bodies, doctor’s appointments, and grandchild-minding duties.
The three remaining participants have all signed up to get fitter, gain energy, improve balance, and perhaps lose a few pounds. But beneath these practical goals lie deeper hopes: the possibility of meeting the last great love of their lives - or finding a friend for life. As they begin to get to know one another, familiar group dynamics quickly come into play…
Performed in Dansk Rakkerpak’s distinctive comic, physical, and non-verbal style, He, She and Fitness is accompanied by newly composed music and a range of surprising visual effects. With precise timing, musicality, and high-energy action, the performance pushes situations to their extremes - always with a generous dose of humor.
